I have never played a Twisted Metal game before but Dez is going on and on about this game. The demo hit the PSN store yesterday afternoon and it took me about 20 minutes to download it. Go download it and look for us online.
Cheap Ass Gamer told us it was going to happen today and they were right. This morning I got up and went to two different WalMarts and neither of them had dropped the price. While I was at the second one I made them price check to see if it had indeed dropped in price and it had. The tags still read the $249 but when I went to check out it rang up at $169. If you want to pick one up do so before Friday and make sure you sign into the estore. To get the estore to show up you have to update the firmware first. In the instruction book turn to page 80 and it explains how to do this.
The Madden demo will be out July 27th and will feature the Colts vs the Jets in NY. Here is a list of the things it will include.

We’ve all thought it was time for a new Gears of War game. Then with the upcoming announcement on Jimmy Fallon show that Cliff Bleszinski was to make, it really started to get you wondering. Well seems someone at Xbox didn’t get the memo that Bleszinski got bumped until Monday and hasn’t made his announcement yet because for a short time on the dashboard there was an ad for Gears of War 3. The add simply said Gears of War 3 April 2011.
One thing that seems to be nice about being a PC gamer is Steam. This weekend Steam is giving a trial period to download and play Modern Warfare 2. It’s only the multilayer but it’s still free. The free trail started April 8th and will run through April 12th.
This from Steam: “The definitive online experience, Modern Warfare 2 returns with a host of new perks and enhancements. Those who wish to enjoy every moment of the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer Free Weekend may pre-load Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer now. There is no obligation to participate.”
Cliff Bleszinski was scheduled to make an announcement on Jimmy Fallon last night but was bumped due to scheduling conflict. He will however be on Monday night to make that announcement.
Since it’s been a couple of years many people have talked about Gears of War 3 coming out this year. However I’m not so sure that Jimmy Fallon’s show is the place you would want to make that kind of announcement. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Microsoft announcement about being able to use flash drives with you Xbox is way over due. Starting tomorrow, April 6th, you can use up to two 16g flash drives as memory for anything on your xbox. Before this the only way to take your gamercard to a friends house or game saves was Microsoft’s way over priced memory.
While this is a good start hopefully it will carry over into hard drives also. With more and more DLC and need for extra hard drive space, you would think Microsoft would eventually have to let you use your own hard drive. I guess time will only tell.
You know that old saying, “Always leave them wanting more,” well Activision doesn’t. We found that out quickly with Guitar Hero and the 20 games a year that Activision puts out for that. Now it looks like COD might be going the same way. In a story talking about the successful launch of Modern Warfare 2 it was announced that there is now along with Treyarch and Infinity Ward, a third team to put out COD games.
So what does this mean? Nobody seems to really be sure but there are a couple of rumors out there. One is that the COD series will come out with two games a year. Another rumor is that they are looking into making a Call of Duty MMO.
We will have to wait to see what Activision has planned for this third team but hopefully their plan isn’t to run COD into the ground by putting out too many games like they did with Gutiar Hero.
Looks like Modern Warfare 2 may be the first to do away with the party chat while playing their game online. Microsoft has given developers the right to turn off party chat while playing multi player games. Why you may ask. Well cheating. People use the party chat to tell their friends were the enemies are on the map.
While I can see this as being a problem turning off party chat would not be cool. I know I’m always in a party chat while playing. Most of the time it’s so I don’t have to listen to the other knuckleheads I’m playing with. The language and insults that fly over XBL are outrageous. If you are looking just to have fun and a good time then party chat is the way to go. It will be interesting to see how long this last or how many other games do this. Personally I think that this will not last long but until then you will have to chose to talk with friends or play online.

While reading over at MTV Multiplayer I found some interesting info on the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game. It looks like the new Batman will have a feature simular to the Prince of Persia game. When you go to make a jump and don’t make it, before you fall to your death the game goes into slow motion. While in slow motion you have a chance to hit the action button and if you do it in time bats will pick you up and put you back on solid ground. Now it is pointed out that unlike Prince of Persia you can die in the Batman game. Personally I think this is a nice feature. Kind of a second chance without having to replay part of the game or waiting for the load screens.
