I just got home after stopping at my local Best Buy to pick up the new Sly Cooper game. I only wanted it on the Vita but since it was only $10 more I went ahead and bought it on the PS3 (that and my Best Buy didn’t even carry it on the Vita.) I got home and fired up my PS3 to start the download and figure out what I had to move off of my Vita to make room (really Sony please lower the price of your memory cards if you want us to download games.) I got to the “disc benefits selection and was greeted with a “coming soon” page. It seems that even though Sly Cooper is out on the Vita today and even for sale in the PSN store, you have to wait to download your free PS Vita copy. If I would of known this I would of stopped somewhere else and gotten the Vita version. This is just another way the Sony and Playstation come up short. It’s a shame too because deal like this one are great and get me excited about what the future could bring.

August 7th Uncharted 3 released the 1.13 patch which they claim is their biggest ever for multiplayer. Also coming out soon is DLC for the game that you can unlock in the game or purchase. The following videos give all the details.
When I first saw Gravity Rush I was not interested. Watching the video I wrote it off as a game that I would never try, however when the demo came out I decided to play through it. I played the demo a couple of times and was hooked. I’m not sure why but something about this game really grabbed me and I went from not interested at all to preordering and picking it up day one.
You play as Kat a girl who doesn’t remember who she is or where she came from. She’s not even sure her name is Kat but someone early in the game gives that name to her because she also has a cat with her. The cat gives her special powers that allow her to shift gravity. With that power Kat can fly but only until her gravity gage runs out and then she has to refill it by returning to normal gravity.

Gravity Rush was a game that I had little interest in until I kept hearing people talk about it. The game is made in Japan and you can tell that in the art style. The game focuses on this girl who can’t remember who she is (does that sound familiar) and who finds this mystery cat that allows her to defy gravity. The game is pretty slick and the controls work well. Clicking the right shoulder button once makes her float while clicking it again sends her to the green marker, the marker is where she is suppose to be going and I’m sure in the game you can also set the marker. With the gravy altered she can walk on buildings or float in the air. This sometimes gives that feeling when you go underwater and don’t know what way is up. I could see it giving you a headache until you got use to it but if it does you can always click the left shoulder button to correct the gravity.

THQ has had the WWE franchise for several years and while putting out a decent game they fall short in so many ways. In the PS2 days I use to play through the story of these games but haven’t done that in years. Mostly because none of them really caught my attention. I’m not saying that they weren’t good but not really for me. With that said I am fine with the single player part of the game and the mechanics, where I really want to see improvement is online.
For years THQ has had the same lame online setup. The main problem with the current setup is there is no party system. Say I have two other friends online and we want to play, well under the way it’s setup now after every match we have to setup another match and then quickly join before some random person does. It would be nice to have a party system so that when the match was over we all stay in the party and can setup another match. This is a pretty standard feature for most game these days. This would be a huge improvement but it just one of the things I would like to see.
I picked this game up today and I’m hoping that it’s better than the early reviews. I really wanted something else to play on the Vita and it’s the first FPS with multiplayer is why a bought it. The trailer looks pretty good but then again it’s a trailer it’s suppose to look good.

I am a fan of Modnation and was excited to hear that it would be one of the launch titles. I own this game on both the PS3 and PSP and was looking forward to see what they did with it on the Vita. Sadly they didn’t do much and didn’t even do as much as the PSP did. The game advertises that it is cross game, which I thought meant one of two things, either you could race against people on the PS3 or you could save your game on the PS3 to the cloud and pick up there on your Vita. However neither of these were the case but instead it meant that you could download created tracks and carts that people had made on the PS3. This was a huge disappointment. At least you could still play online against other Vita owners and that would be cool but again no dice. The Vita version doesn’t even have online play, something that even the PSP version had.
This game seems like it was put out to die and I had no idea why, until I heard that Sackboy was getting his own cart racer. Yes Little Big Planet is getting a cart racer and it looks like it will kill Modnation Racers. From what I’ve heard Modnation never took off like Playstation hoped it would so they are going to use the popular Little Big Planet to do another cart racer.

Black Ops 2 has been announced and the trailer looks pretty interesting, this game will be set in the future. The trailer doesn’t say show it but I’ve heard that part of it is even fought in space. Sounds pretty interesting and I’m looking forward to checking it out.
